A customer asked me to create a cartoon to celebrate the end of the Austrian monarchy and its dominance over Czechoslovakia. He wanted it to be humorously mocking. The cartoon was used on party invitations to other expatriated Czechoslovakians.

I only had two hours to complete the drawing, so I Googled Emperor Franz Joseph for inspiration. These are the two images that got me thinking creatively.
